Interim SA Power Networks eCoC Form

As members would be aware, The Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) has introduced a new electronic Certificate of Compliance (eCoC) to replace the paper Certificate of Compliance (CoC), which is currently left on site by registered electricians for SA Power Networks for completed work. From 1 July 2018, only the eCoC can be used by Registered Electrical Contractors (REC’s).

We have just received advice that SA Power Networks (SAPN) are bringing in an interim arrangement for the electronic Certificate of Compliance system.

Registered Electrical Contractors (RECs) can either provide a printed copy of the eCOC on site for SAPN connection officers, or where that is not practicable SAPN are prepared to accept an Authority to Connect Form with the eCOC number attached.

The contractor will also need to send a copy of the eCOC to eCOC@sapowernetworks.com.au but at present SAPN will not be able to reconcile the forms to the jobs. SAPN will conduct random audits to check compliance.

There will be circumstances where the contractor is not able to fill in the eCOC which they will be able to indicate on the Authority to Connect form and SAPN will assess the circumstances and if acceptable will connect the installation.

Note: The determination of whether it is not practicable to leave a printed copy of the eCoC form on site is made by the Registered Electrical Contractor.
