Electrical Certificates of Compliance

The Electrical Certificate of Compliance Scheme is the regulatory mechanism employed to provide safety within electrical installations. Their purpose is to enable self-certification of the electrical work and to protect the electrical contractor or worker and the consumer.

The Office of the Technical Regulator administers and audits the Electrical Certificates of Compliance scheme for the electrical contracting industry.

Electrical Certificates of Compliance provide assurance to the consumer that the work performed has been installed and tested to the appropriate Standards while confining the electrician's responsibility to the work actually done.
