What do these changes mean for SRES participants?

• Participants must ensure small generation units are installed according to the Standards before applying to claim small-scale technology certificates (STCs).
• A transition period has been in effect for all states and territories (except NSW) for Standards 5033:2021, following the changes made to the Standard on 19 November 2021. NSW enforced the new rules on the date of publication.
• The transition ended in all states and territories (except Tasmania) on 19 May 2022. Tasmania's transition concludes on 1 June 2022. Additional time was given to industry for the Standards 4777.2.2020 to comply with the requirements for solar Photovoltaic (PV) inverters incorporating DC isolators.
• Suppliers are reminded that verification of compliance to Standards 4777.2.2020 will be required from 30 June 2022. Installers should take note of these upcoming commencement dates, which are published by the Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council.
• The SRES inspectors program conducts on-site audits to determine if small generation units are complying to the Standards.
• Installers who fail to adequately ensure that STCs are eligible for creation or are party to the provision of false and misleading information may face criminal, civil or administrative action.
