Renewal reminders heading electronic for Construction Licensees and Architects

Access Canberra is changing the way individuals are notified of their licence/registration expiry. Previously individuals received a hard copy renewal notice in the mail. Notifications of expiry (also known as renewal letters) will now be sent via email and SMS. This will occur for the following occupations: Asbestos Assessors, Asbestos Removalist, Building Assessor, Building Surveyor, Builder, Drainer, Electrician, Plumber, Gasfitter, Gas Appliance Worker, Works Assessor and Architect.

The email and SMS will direct you to complete the renewal transaction online. If you do not have a mobile telephone or an email address you will need to find an alternative solution. This may mean registering an immediate family member or business associate’s mobile phone number and email address with us to ensure you receive these notifications. You will also need to use a credit card to process the transaction online.

Notifications will commence this month for licences expiring between 1 January 2017 and 31 January 2017. So if you believe your details have changed and/or you have not updated your contacts recently you can do so here to ensure you receive your notification. If you have a licence or registration that is expiring within the next three months, you may wish to lodge a renewal now.

To prepare for this important change, please ensure that your mobile telephone and email contact details recorded with Access Canberra are up to date. To update your contact details please search ‘update construction occupation on the Access Canberra website. This will direct you to the page where you will find the ‘update licence or registration details’ box. Your details can then be updated and submitted electronically.

Access Canberra encourages you to share this information with colleagues who may hold the occupational licences/registrations that are affected.
