The latest innovation setting a new standard in home floodlighting, the Crompton Hornet 20W LED Floodlight, has been awarded the 2017 IES NSW Luminaire Design Award of Commendation.

The IES Award represents the NSW Chapter’s quality in the design and manufacture of luminaires within NSW. “We are proud to have been presented with this award as it recognises the vision that Gerard Lighting and its team have, in understanding and indentifying the future market requirements of LED

Electrical Engineers Mark Ziegler, Guy Hatton-Ward and Derek Yao, collaboratively designed the Crompton Hornet with Blue Sky Design Group specifically for the residential market. This unique innovation is unlike any other – a compact, adaptable slimline LED floodlight that is made to hide unobtrusively when mounted under eaves, offering a sleek aesthetic design and performance that sets it apart.

The low profile LED floodlight has a perfectly sized slimline body and adjustable head (300o horizontal and 200o vertical) with complete flexibility allowing the user to direct light anywhere. A separate mounting base also allows for retrofitting onto existing floodlight mounting points – it is engineered to deliver performance output and robustness.

“The Hornet redefines everyday external residential floodlight that we know, to a whole new level. Traditional floodlighting has typically been bulky and industrial in appearance. In contrast, the newly released compact, slimline design of the Crompton Hornet, provides home owners and landscapers with a stylish aesthetic for their external lighting.
