General Cable to close its operations

General Cable Corporation has announced that its remaining offices in Australia will close on 25 November 2016 , with ongoing sales in this market to be managed from the company’s regional headquarters in New Zealand.

The company announced the forthcoming closure of its Australian sales and support offices in July 2016.

General Cable, headquartered in Kentucky, USA, is a leader in the manufacture and supply of copper, aluminum and fibre optic wire and cable products for the energy, industrial and communications markets. Supply has been maintained to Australian markets since 2000.

The Managing Director Oceania, David Peterson, said today: “The closure of our Australian offices is part of a programme to ensure the business is aligned with market structure and conditions in this region.

“We intend to maintain supply to key projects and customers in Australia, sourcing as required from General Cable’s global manufacturing network.”
