NECA WA Advocacy
NECA WA wants to make building business in the WA electrical industry as easy and profitable for our members as possible.
We play a critical role in giving small-to-medium sized businesses a united voice on issues that can have a significant impact on day-to-day operations. Part of this ongoing effort is collating member feedback and lobbying on their behalf to government and network operators.
In 2018, NECA WA successfully provided input on the following areas;
-
Beneficial changes to Notice of Completion requirements for large projects
-
Proposed changes to issuing and extension of Apprentice Training Licences
-
Lobbying government over Synergy's entry into the retail solar market
More recently this year, we've been tackling other and re-addressing previously important advocacy issues;
-
Clarification regarding the Apprentice Supervision Guidelines
-
NECA WA calls for 2 years' experience before obtaining an Electrical Contractors Licence
-
NECA WA advocates to extend notifiable work notice submission time-frames
If you believe there is a topic of importance that needs addressing and we haven't covered it, please feel free to be in touch and bring it to our attention.
