Public Comment on New Wiring Rules Closing 20th June

Don't forget to submit your comments for the AS/NZS 3000. This is the key opportunity for everyone to be involved and have their say. Public comment will close 20th June.

Proposed changes in the draft include:

 

  • a restructure of the 'Safety Services' clause in Section 7
  • a number of new definitions, including 'main switch', 'arc fault detection device' and 'combined outbuilding'
  • clarity on exclusion zones in wet areas and clearances around switchboards
  • provisions relating to residual-current devices (RCDs)
  • new appendices providing guidance on a number of topics, including switchgear and control gear; loss of supply; conduiting; arc fault detection devices; and DC installations
