2019 Apprentice Awards - Nominations
The NECA Apprentice Awards are held each year to recognise the important contribution apprentices, employers and host companies make to the electrical and communications contracting industry. The Awards are open to all current NECA members to nominate their best and brightest apprentices.
These awards are available to fourth year apprentices, or those who have recently graduated, who have demonstrated a commitment to developing a highly successful career in electrotechnology through excellence in personal development, academic study and workplace competency.

Entrants are assessed in the following categories:

Industrial
Applicants are initially assessed at a state level, with finalists being invited to an interview with a judging panel. The first prize winner at state level receive a monetary prize and are invited to collect their awards at a state awards event, along with their employers, who also receive a certificate of achievement.
State winners from each category will then be invited to submit a project relevant to the award category to be judged for the NECA National Apprentice Awards.

Download the 2019 Apprentice Award Judging Criteria and use to assist you with your submission
Please include the following with your submission:
- Letter of support from the apprentice's employer or supervisor (providing details on the type of work the apprentice has carried out during his/her apprenticeship)
- Reference from a colleague and client/customer (if possible)
- A copy of the apprentices academic results
- A brief statement from the apprentice regarding their ambitions for their career (one page minimum)
- Profiling details (if applicable)
- On-the-jon photograph of apprentice (for use in the awards presentation material) in high res JPEG format. Please ensure the photo conforms with WHS requirements.

Nominations have now closed
Note: Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted and criteria must be adhered to. Judging interviews will be held on Monday 27th of May 2019 and all nominated apprentices are required to be available for their interview time on this date. Failure to make their allocated interview will deem their entry invalid.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be in their fourth year of ther TAFE or RTO training, or have recently completed their apprenticeship (within 12 months of the completion date).
During their apprenticeship, they must be, or have been employed by a NECA member or a NECA Group Training apprentice company.
NECA NATIONAL AWARDS
Each state winner will be forwarded application details mid-September 2019 regarding the project they will be required to submit. A short list of finalists from each category will then be selected to attend a formal interview in Melbourne in the days leading up to the National Awards in November.
Winners for each category will be selected at this final stage interview, with winners and placegetters receiving their award at NECA’s National Excellence Awards to be held in Melbourne in November. Monetary prizes will be awarded.
