Webinar - Changes to the Fair Work Act and their Effect on Employers
This webinar was presented on 22 March 2016 by Gordon Jervis, NECA NSW Industrial Relations Manager.
Details of the webinar were as follows:
In December 2015 the Federal Parliament passed amendments to the following areas of the Fair Work Act 2009:
bargaining for Greenfields Agreements,
limiting a union’s right to take protected industrial action until after bargaining for a new enterprise agreement has started, and
compelling employers to consult with employees who request unpaid parental leave before refusing the request.
The Government has also introduced a bill to further amend the Act to:
clarify the value of accrued and untaken annual leave on termination of employment,
modify transfer of business rules,
make it clear that an employee will not accrue annual leave while he or she is receiving workers compensation,
make it easier to enter into individual flexibility arrangements; and
remove amendments to right of entry laws introduced by the previous Labor Government.
This webinar provided an overview of each of the above areas to help you understand how they may affect your business
