NECA QLD Excellence and Apprentice Awards

The best Queensland (QLD) electrical and communications contractors and apprentices were recognised at the annual electrical industry Excellence and Apprentice Awards hosted by peak Australian industry body the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA). Hosted by media identity Rob Carlton with guest speaker former Test cricketer, Greg “Fat Cat” Ritchie.

In the Excellence Awards, NECA QLD awarded ten major awards across eight categories and in the Apprentice Awards there were two major award recipients. Winners were presented their awards in front of almost 300 industry representatives including contractors, suppliers, educators and government representatives at the pinnacle showcase of the electrical and communications industry at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane.

NECA QLD also had the opportunity to present a lifetime membership to well-known electrical contractor, training officer, awards judge and technical consultant, Mr Keith Sallaway, who continues to provide NECA with considerable service in his retirement.

Executive Director of NECA Queensland, Mr Peter Lamont said the winning companies and apprentices in this year’s awards were chosen because of their commitment to excellence and to safety, their significant engineering achievements and in finishing complex jobs on time.

“The judging panel were privileged to view such high-quality projects and as always, NECA members have played a critical role in some of the largest and most diverse construction jobs in the state,” said Mr Lamont.
