NECA has been a strong advocate for Security of Payment reform and has been an active participant in the Australian Government’s Review of Security of Payments legislation.  

On 21 December 2016, the Government announced a review of this legislation across the building and construction industry and appointed Mr John Murray AM as its lead. As an additional step, the Department of Employment has engaged AMR Interactive Pty Ltd (AMR) to conduct a cross-sectional survey to gain the views and experiences of contractors and subcontractors with current Security of Payments laws.
