2016 ACT NECA Excellence Awards Winners
The best Australian Capital Territory (ACT) electrical and communications contractors and apprentices were recognised at the annual electrical industry Excellence and Apprentice Awards hosted by peak Australian industry body the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA).
This year, NECA ACT introduced a Security category and split the Communications/Data category into small, medium and large projects in the Excellence Awards which proved to be a huge success. Overall, there were 13 major awards and 1 commendation across 11 categories that were awarded in the Excellence Awards and in the Apprentice Awards there were 3 award recipients. Finalists were presented in front of over 300 industry representatives including contractors, suppliers, educators and government representatives at the pinnacle showcase of the electrical and communications industry at Hotel Realm, Canberra.
“This has been an exceptional year for ACT in terms of the variety of projects and the challenges our contractors have faced across communications, security, industrial, commercial and domestic projects. It was difficult for the judges to shortlist the finalists as they evaluated all the excellent projects,” said Barry Skinner, NECA ACT President.
“These awards provide an opportunity to demonstrate contractors’ and apprentices’ successes to their peers in the electrical and communications industry as well as to the general community,” said Mr Judd, Executive Director of NECA NSW/ACT
