NECA is conducting a webinar on the AS/CA S009 standard changes that came into effect mid last year on Tuesday, 4 May 2021. This standard replaces the 2013 edition and continues to remain in effect for up to eighteen months after publication of AS/CA S009:2020.

The updates to this regulatory standard are significant, bringing major safety and technological changes that all ICT professionals must be aware of. Some of these changes are significant, as they no longer involve ELV, SELV and TNV.

Join our presenter Ian Millner, as he discusses the changes from ES1 to ES3 and the impact of the changes including the distribution of hazardous voltages over communications cabling, field terminated plugs, remote powering, new optical-fibre safeguards, and fire-stopping.

Date: Tuesday 4th May, 2021 | Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm

NECA is working closely with Standards Australia, switchboard manufacturers, and the broader electrical industry to clarify how the new AS/NZS 61439 series of standards will be practically applied and the potential impact on electrical contractors and their projects.

After May 2021:

  • Only AS/NZS 61439 is acceptable for specification
  • Replacing like for like electrical components is allowable

To alleviate any areas of misunderstanding from the old standard to the new standard, NECA is hosting a webinar on Wednesday 21 April, 2021 with a panel of industry experts to clarify any responsibilities in specification, testing, design and build between user and assembly manufacturer.

Join our panel of experts from NECA, NESMA, IPD, Schneider Electric and NHP as they discuss the key changes and definitions, documentation, and contractors’ onsite responsibilities. This will be followed by a Q&A.

If you are a switchboard installer, then this webinar is must to attend.

*All attendees in Tasmania will receive 1 CPD point upon completion of the webinar.
