The Electrical Safety Office has updated three of their existing codes of practice, effective from 2 January 2020.

• Electrical Safety Code of Practice 2020 – Electrical Equipment Rural Industry.
• Electrical Safety Code of Practice 2020 – Working Near Overhead and Underground Electric Lines.
• Electrical Safety Code of Practice 2020 – Works.

Codes of Practice provide practical guidance on how to achieve the standards required under the Act and Regulations, and effective ways to manage risks. A code of practice applies to anyone who has a duty of care, and by following an approved code of practice, they can achieve compliance with the legislative requirements.

The updated codes mentioned above have incorporated minor amendments following reviews for technical accuracy, usability and readability. 

All other electrical safety codes remain.
