Government making right moves by fast-tracking infrastructure

The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) welcomes the Federal Government’s decision to fast-track several major infrastructure projects after it called for the move in its Four Point Plan to Power the Economy.

Suresh Manickam, CEO of NECA, said:

“Good on the government for listening to industry, including NECA, and expediting these major projects that are critical to create new jobs and protect existing ones, as well as building a stronger Australia. NECA called for this as part of our Four Point Plan to Power the Economy and clearly this will create significant opportunities for electrical contracting businesses across the country.

“But let’s not forget that there are many smaller firms that can’t work on these projects – we need to see urgent support that is tailored to create opportunities for these businesses too which are the lifeblood of the Australian economy.”

NECA’s Four Point Plan includes proposals that would create opportunities for businesses of all sizes and can be seen here.
