Are you ready to deepen your understanding of electrical safety? This October, our NECA Risk Focus Program will zoom in on Electrical Hazards, a topic of utmost significance that should not be overlooked.
Electrical hazards encompass situations involving tasks performed near live conductors or components. These present risks of electric shock and arc flash hazards. Understanding these risks, equipping yourself with adequate knowledge, and following safety protocols is key to ensuring a safe working environment.
This month, we will highlight the importance of practicing safe work procedures when dealing with energised work, including defining when and how to perform such work safely and effectively. We will explore different scenarios, from managing electric shocks to arc flash injuries, and how to best mitigate these risks with proper safety controls.
We will also delve into the role of Electrical Safety Observers, their crucial role in risk prevention, and the necessary qualifications and capabilities they must possess. Additionally, we will go over the importance of isolation and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safety during electrical work.
Targeted specifically for members in the electrotechnology industry, our aim is to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to maintain safety in environments with potential electrical hazards.
Join us this October to expand your understanding and awareness of Electrical Hazards.
