NECA CEO, Oliver Judd said, “NECA fully support industry led training in the renewable energy space. We’ve seen fantastic results from across the country where similar models have been adopted, resulting in industry leading outcomes for both apprentices and industry.
“In order to ensure Tasmania takes full advantage of their natural resources and cements their place as a ‘renewable energy powerhouse’, I urge all parties to commit to investing in industry led renewable energy training.
“I would also welcome a commitment on strengthening security of payment protections and an inquiry into practices resulting in unfair contracts, which are other major concerns currently threating the sector. Such assurances would further help guarantee we have a strong, robust and well-equipped workforce to not only to establish Tasmania as a leader in renewable energy, but to ensure the infrastructure exists in order to keep it that way”.
