NECA - the National Electrical and Communications Association, is the peak industry body representing the interests of the electrical and communications contracting industry across Australia. We have over 6,000 member organisations.

NECA is run by contractors, for contractors, and represents members in all states and territories of Australia. All our board members – at the national and state and territory level, are electrical contractors. And each board has a good mix of small, medium and large enterprises represented. As a result, we understand what our members are looking for in our member services and technical support.

Each chapter of NECA is unique because each market is different. But each state and territory provides our members with a package of core services built around:

• Industrial Relations (IR),
• Workplace, Health & Safety (WHS),
• Technical Support  - including TKB,
• Training & development (RTO), and
• Apprentice Training & Support (via our GTOs).
• Legal Advice, Assistance & Representation (via NECA Legal)

Across Australia, we employ and train over approaching 5,000 apprentices. Most of the on-the-job training our apprentices receive is gained working for NECA members. But apprentices can also be placed with non-members – particularly if they need experience in a particular specialist area.

Our flagship events are our Annual Awards where we recognise the best in innovation, technical expertise and breaking new ground. And we represent our industry on the big issues at State and Territory and Federal Governments across Australia. Our Policies evolve as issues develop and we listen to the industry views via our biennial Market Monitor research.
